Machine learning for predictive maintenance
In this webinar, we focused on machine learning for predictive maintenance together with our invited guests, Hanna Grönqvist, Senior Data Scientist at Hiab, and Slawomir Nowaczyk, Professor in Machine Learning at the Halmstad University and a Lead AI Scientist at Silo AI. Hiab, part of Cargotec, is the leading provider of on-road load handling equipment. At Hiab, Hanna is leading the predictive maintenance initiatives, and she’ll be joining the webinar to speak about predictive maintenance at Hiab for smart and sustainable load handling. In addition, we have a pleasure to learn from Silo AI's Lead AI Scientist Slawomir Nowaczyk who has both academic and industry experience in building machine learning for predictive maintenance. Previously he has built autonomous monitoring capabilities for smart vehicles in collaboration with Volvo. Slawomir is a well-known researcher on the topic of machine learning and deep learning for predictive maintenance in Sweden. The webinar is hosted by Kai Knuutila, AI Solution Strategist at Silo AI, who previously led predictive maintenance projects at the global provider of glass processing technologies, Glaston.
Watch the webinar to learn from experts with both academic and industry experience.

Senior Data Scientist
Hanna is an experienced Senior Data Scientist, with a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the French Atomic Energy Commission on mathematical aspects of particle collisions at CERN. During her thesis she taught biophysics for medicine, electrodynamics and quantum mechanics at the Paris region's foremost scientific university and after that, Hanna worked at a nanometrology startup in Grenoble, France. For the past three years, she’s been at Cargotec, now leading the team for predictive maintenance at their load handling business Hiab.
Professor in Machine Learning & Lead AI Scientist
Halmstad University & Silo AI
Slawomir is an expert in building machine learning algorithms in many areas, with particular interest for research on self-monitoring and predictive maintenance, having collaborated with multiple companies such as the Volvo Group in Sweden. With a PhD in Computer Science from Lund University, and many highly-cited papers on both the methods and applications of AI and machine learning, Slawomir is part of the Center for Applied Intelligent Systems Research (CAISR) at Halmstad University, which is now growing to be the leading center for AI-driven innovation.
