Silo AI to offer modular solutions for industrial AI with Intel

The largest Nordic AI service and solution provider Silo AI is today announcing its offering for industrial AI with Intel. As the first step, Silo AI is now offering their Silo Operating Software (Silo OS) to include a range of industrial quality control use cases, such as a modular and customizable AI-powered Visual Quality Control solution for deploying AI workflows on Intel® hardware. Today, the Silo OS Visual Quality Control solution has been tailored for several customers in the forestry, infrastructure and manufacturing industries. Through Intel’s AI Builders program, Silo AI will optimally leverage Intel® hardware, such as accelerators, making it effortless to scale deployments for a wide range of industrial use cases.

Silo AI is the largest private AI lab in the Nordics and helps its clients succeed in building AI-driven solutions and products to enable industry 4.0, autonomous vehicles and smart devices, among others. In addition to a team of more than 160 leading AI experts, Silo AI provides modular solutions with Silo OS. As an infrastructure consisting of tooling and modular AI components, Silo OS is designed to significantly reduce the risk, cost, and time-to-production in AI product and solution development. Examples of previous projects relying on Silo OS include computer vision tooling for quality control in manufacturing processes, sewage pipe analysis, and autonomous vessels and vehicles. With Intel’s hardware, Silo AI is able to speed up both the development and onboarding of AI and to improve the performance of AI solutions.

Silo AI offers a modular AI-powered Visual Quality Control solution for deploying AI workflows on Intel® hardware. Thanks to Intel® OpenVINO™, a toolkit for developing AI applications and solutions, Silo AI’s offering will optimally leverage Intel® hardware such as Xeon® processors and Movidius™  Myriad™  Vision Processing Unit accelerators, making it effortless to scale deployments for any industrial quality control use case with different computational requirements. The solution runs on edge devices and can be deployed on the hardware and cloud infrastructure of choice.

Peter Sarlin

Peter Sarlin, CEO at Silo AI comments:
“We’ve seen an increasing need for AI-driven products and solutions for industrial applications, and the need to customize solutions to the utilized hardware. We are proud to work with Intel on a joint offering that allows us to remove the usual bottlenecks in time-to-production and reduce costs with a customizable solution.”

Silo AI’s industrial Visual Quality Control solution is powered by machine learning. Data is collected inline with standard industrial devices such as RGB or hyperspectral cameras and samples are passed through an optimized computer vision model. Raw model predictions are turned to domain events within a fully configurable decision-making module and quality metrics of interest are presented to production engineers, operators, and managers through real-time analytics dashboards. Silo AI’s experts help clients build the best performing machine learning models and relevant integrations between systems and sensors for the case at hand.

“I'm very happy to welcome Silo AI in the AI Builders program. Silo AI's Visual Quality Control solution helps factories to optimize quality control process, supporting and augmenting factory floor staff. The Intel program provides tools and support to make its deployment easy and fast on Intel hardware,” says Krzysztof Jonak, EMEA Territory Sales Director at Intel.
