Combient and SiloGen launch a joint program to build competitive edge by deploying LLMs to production

SiloGen, the AI company behind a consortium on the world’s largest open LLM (large language model), launches a program with the aim to help Combient’s Associated Companies to be leaders in utilizing generative AI and LLMs. Combient brings together 35 of the largest companies in the Nordics, such as Atlas Copco, Autoliv, Epiroc, Ericsson, H&M, Husqvarna, KONE, SAAB, SAS, Scania, SEB, Stora Enso and Wärtsilä, with a purpose to enable business success through collaboration. This LLM program is a natural next step, in line with the partnership between SiloGen and Combient, initiated through the acquisition of Combient’s AI company Combient Mix earlier this year. Through SiloGen's LLM program the participating companies are able to build custom LLMs as they have access to a catalog of SiloGen models and a platform for fine-tuning them. This allows all companies in Combient’s network to innovate and strengthen their competitive edge by relying on leading European LLMs, customizing them for their own needs and deploying them to production. The first batch of the program starts in September and ends later this year.

Can Large Language Model technologies (LLMs) revolutionize your digital products and services? We believe so. The technological shift brought on by LLMs is comparable to the magnitude of the shift ushered in by computers and the Internet. We believe such a shift creates high-value opportunities. LLMs are set to increase productivity gains as well as spark product innovations, leading to the strengthening of a company’s competitive edge. We expect to see LLMs affecting areas such as marketing and sales, supply chain and operations, new service and product innovation, and customer operations. Fortunately, there is no need to miss out on the opportunities brought forth by LLMs. SiloGen's LLM program is designed to help companies get a head start on deploying LLMs to production.

Generic AI models brought generative AI and large language models (LLMs) to the mainstream. As companies have started to explore how to leverage LLMs, a need for performant and trustworthy models for specialized use cases has emerged. Highly specialized LLMs outperform their general-purpose counterparts on many dimensions as they are trained for a specific environment and area of expertise, and do not need to perform on other tasks. Optimal performance is often achieved by further fine-tuning models on proprietary data, giving them detailed insight on a company’s users, processes and products.

LLM building capability and capacity

Since its inception, Silo AI has delivered more than 200 production-grade AI solutions and products, from idea to production, to industry leaders, such as Allianz, Ericsson, Honda, Rolls-Royce and Sandvik. With SiloGen, the company has expanded its offering to include a platform to build custom LLMs. This is achieved through access to a catalog of SiloGen models, and APIs to SiloGen's data-centric AI development platform for fine-tuning the models for bespoke needs. The platform covers tooling for synthetic data, annotation, and quality testing. Through their capabilities, SiloGen is set to ensure companies are able to harness the full value creating potential of LLMs. This allows Combient’s Associated Companies to innovate and build on their competitive edge by relying on leading European LLMs, customizing them for their own needs and deploying them to production.

SiloGen is now initiating an LLM Program that allows companies to take the leap from LLM use cases to production-grade solutions. As part of the strategic partnership between SiloGen and Combient, Combient’s Associated Companies will have the exclusive opportunity to be the first batch with access to a Combient-specific LLM sandbox. The program will prioritize distinct domains in line with the Combient companies and eventually provide them access to a model-as-a-service offering.

The LMM program will not only help Combient companies strengthen their competitive edge, but also allows them to get access to the SiloGen LLM hosting service that will ensure uninterrupted use of LLM-powered services and applications in business critical operations. By combining SiloGen’s platform with a customer-centric approach to building custom LLMs, we will provide Combient’s Associated Companies with a unique opportunity to build trustworthy, robust and reliable LLMs for their business needs. The LLM products resulting from SiloGen’s LLM Program, and the companies deploying them, will shape what it means to be an industry leader in the era of generative AI.
