Barbara Heikkinen joins Silo AI Palo Alto to develop smart health

We’re excited to announce the latest addition to our team in Palo Alto with Barbara Heikkinen joining us! Barbara is an accomplished business and technology leader who’ll take the lead in expanding our business in the San Francisco Bay Area and elsewhere in the US. Barbara has strong expertise in creating innovative products and technologies with a background ranging from smartphones and wearables to digital health, virtual reality, and fintech.

Prior to joining Silo AI Barbara worked at BBVA bringing their cloud-based banking-as-a-service platform to the US market as well as at Nokia driving their transformation of an R&D unit to a growth business of Nokia Technologies, and leading their product and program management for the next-generation of mobile devices and services.

At Silo AI, Barbara’s focus will be on smart health encompassing the life sciences and healthcare sectors.

– Big Tech companies have invested enormously in deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing, riding on the wave of breakthroughs in compute, cloud storage, and availability of data. That coupled with wide access to developer-friendly machine learning frameworks and tools has caused the AI industry to boom and provide opportunities for companies of all sizes to apply AI in their every-day business.
